Ruggiero Rutigliano
Vita:
Ruggiero Maria Rutigliano was born in 1970 in the city of Barletta, in southern Italy.
During his childhood Ruggiero Rutigliano learned to appreciate art thanks to the discussions about paintings held by his father Antonio and friends at home. Art has always occupied a fundamental place on Ruggiero’s spirit due to his father’s passion. He grew up in an atmosphere of respect, observance and cogitation about the pieces of artists such as Chirico, Picasso, Carra, Rosai, Sironi, Campigli, Nittis or Pisarro from the family’s collection.
At the age of 5 (1975) he began his first art studies with the prestigious Cinzia Dicorato, artist and restorer of masterpieces, who has directed important projects such as the
restoration of the Chiesia dei Greci (Barletta, XIV-XVIII centuries), among others. Thanks to the pedagogy used by her in an environment full of multisensory stimuli, rutigliano still remembers the aromas, colors, textures and works of the workshop where he become an “apprentice” to her teacher, as well as the savoir-faire of yore.
Over the years, Ruggiero Rutigliano has explored multiple artistic expressions, learning without prejudice from both medieval and classical masters and disruptive modern artists.
All the artist’s projects are executed under his own developed exigent and complex method.
Only this artisanal way of working allows him to truly express his respect and admiration for art, through pure materials and physical effort.
Rutigliano’s works are carefully made, rigorous and clean, characterised by an responsable execution.
From an “ordered disorder” to an “spontaneous” creation, the artist creates a dialogue between banality and essentiality transmitted by the juxtaposition of materials as well as the dissection of volumes.
Since he started his path on art Ruggiero Rutigliano has participated in several exhibitions in different cities in his natal Italy and abroad in international painting Competitions, being recognised and celebrated by his engagement with the artistic career.
Ruggiero Rutigliano’s works are permanently exhibited in galleries all over the world, in Vienna, Moscow, New York, London, Florida, Madrid and Brussels.
